Versace Spring / Summer 2009 Collection Launch at Pavilion Flagship

Attended the launching of Versace Spring / Summer 2009 collection last 2 weeks. Was an interesting and fun but a painful one - because all the gowns and bags are sooooooooooo damn gorgeous but anyone of them can seriously burn a BIG hole in my pocket :(

Generous flow of nice bubbly champagne (favourite, haha), as well as red wine, fruit punch and delicious canapes. The launching started with a "mini" fashion show that showcased their latest spring / summer collection. Mostly in purple (my, my favourite colour), off-white and black (for men's collection). I was eyeing at a big purple nappa bag and I was sooooooooooooo disappointed when I get to know the price - which is about 10k ++ @@ But that bag is simply gorgeous and it's PURPLE!!!! And their killing heels and wedges in gold that cost around 3k ++ are really killing me on the spot!!

The fashion show was an eye-opening one, with very unique choreoraphy where the models came down from the upper level through stairs. It was very different from the normal fashion show with T-stage.

The elegant and beautiful satin gown in lavender-purple. Very nice but I doubt whether I have nice figure like this model to carry this gown. (Well, I know I don't have nice figure like her ...)

She is the prettiest model of them all. She's blessed with nice features and she looks stunnning and sexy in this off-white suit :)

The most handsome model :P He has got a little charm in attracting people to keep an eye on him. I guess it's because he has got beautiful eyes...

Model standing at the stair, with all the beautiful Versace hobos as background.

I LOVE this gown!!! Feel like owning this gown soooooooooooooooooooooooo much! But too bad, I ain't a socialite, this gown can only stay in my wardrobe for years before I got a chance to wear it. But it's VERY elegant and beautiful isn't it?

The end of the show...

Gosh, I love attending fashion show and launching like this but on the other side, I hate it so much because I can't really grab whatever I like :( hahaha... So I'm gonna tell myself that it's good to see than to own as well!!
And lastly, Versace was really generous. Guess what I have got as door gift? A 50-ml Versace Bright Crystal perfume!! Thanks a million!!
No more upcoming launching and parties at the moment :P

FIRST 2009 Resolutions SOLVED!!

Just came back from Malaysia Tatler Homes Magazine launching, was a fun one. Had few shots of Vodka and Jacobs's Creek wine, meeting some nice people and did enjoy myself :)

It's been a long time (almost ages, I know) since I last wrote something here. So here I am now to congrat myself for solving my first resolution that I made for the year of 2009! YEAH!! I bought myself a cardholder from MONT BLANC! (OK, for being materialistic, I made a resolution for buying myself a designer stuff, haha...)

Actually I am so dying to own a piece of Salvatore Ferragamo but their products are far tooooooooooooooo pricey if compare to others. Ok, I work out a formula for a better understanding: 1 Salvatore Ferragamo card holder = 2 Mont Blanc card holders. Got it? But I love the one from Ferragamo soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much :( Wait till the day I got them, haha!!

Surveyed a few brands before purchasing. Went to brands I don't quite fancy as well (namely Burberry and Gucci) as well as my favourite brands like Salvatore Ferragamo, Coach, Mont Blanc and Loewe. Was struggling between Coach and Mont Blanc that time but finally, I made up my mind and laid my hand on Mont Blanc - mainly because of the timeliness and classic design it has got as compared to Coach (as the design for card holder is only so-so, but some of their cluthes and bags are nice).

Card holder rom Mont Blanc - standing on box, with the paper bag as background.
A closer shot...

My Mont Blanc card holder and my name cards...

Hmm, this pen looks gorgeous but I don't think I need it because I don't need to sign contracts worth billions...

Working life has been pretty good so far. I am so blessed to have great colleagues and most importantly, an easy-going boss! More updates on working life, parties and functions coming on!!

Till then xoxo (and updates on Versace Spring / Summer 2009 collection launch is coming up next!)

Post-Graduate Symptom :P

Well, it's been quite sometimes since I posted my last blog. Not because I am lazy, but because of some problems with my blog that causes me being unable to view my blog, but I solved the problem, haha.. BRAVO!! Everything goes back to normal now.

Have been staying at home for a month. Had a great Chinese New Year celebration, stayed at grandma's house, had a little more liqour than I should, sleep a lot, eat way toooo much and gain more weight. Most importantly, I have started job hunting :(

I am now a graduate. Erm, not officially until I receive my Advanced Diploma certificate. Now everyday, apart from browsing the net and classified for some suitable jobs, I am worrying dead for my final result. "What will be the result for my PR campaign planning paper?", "Did I do badly for my Socio-Comm paper?", "How's my thesis"...Questions as such keep running through my head. I think I can only put them aside when I finally get the result. I hate all these, I hate worries, but I always carry them with my life and I think, this will be the last time I care so much for my academic result, unless I have a gut to go for a Master course again...

Hmmmm, I have been spending my days in a pretty relaxing way, splurged on Cecelia Ahern's book and spend most of my time reading them, if not playing with PSP. I didn't get her celebrated "PS, I Love You" as her other three books are on promotion - which cost only RM 64.90 (yes, three books for this price). So, I think that's a good deal, since I have plenty of time to let myself wander around her fairytale-like love stories.

The books ... still in a wrapped condition. Apart from touching stories, especially those like "Kite Runner", I think I have a weakness for books with beautiful covers as well ... haha.. but of course, the storyline comes first!

Cecelia Ahern's "A place Called Here", "If You Could See Me Now" and "Where Rainbows End"... Currently reading "A Place Called Here", gonna finish soon...

I should enjoy moment like this as much as I can. Relax as much as I could before I start my hectic working life and face real challenges and meet all kind of people. I kinda feel like those days're gone. Those days where I will be carrying my CK tote with notes inside, holding uncountable sheets of literature review, sitting in the air-conditioned Old Town or the roadside Mamak with BeeJeff and Mr. C for thesis consultation are gone. Those days where we will hop to Pizza Hut for lunch are gone. Those days where we will spend long hours in front of computers, facing the spreadsheet, eyes blurring with all the figures are gone. Those days where we will tease and make fun of each others are gone. Those days where we lay together, talking something bad about others are gone. Those days where we share funny jokes and memories are gone.

And all these are the days I missed. I missed all of them badly. I started to miss what I have been done, whom I have met in my 4-year college life.

In front of me, is a long way ahead. I should move forward and bring along all the wonderful memories with me :) It was all of them, who contributed a precious part of my life, and made who I am today.

BIG Thanks to ... ESTĒE LAUDER

Guess What?!!? I have won myself a new mascara from ESTĒE LAUDER - their newly lauched Turbo Lash. They held a simple contest in conjunction with the launching of this mascara in January. So I went to the launching in KLCC in order to get my prize and met some celebrities like Daphne Iking, Jojo and Lynn.

OK... you'd probably say, well, it's only a mascara, what's so big deal about it?
For me, a mascara maniac, will definitely find this new mascara very interesting and yet innovative. Know why? Bacause it is the first "vibrating" mascara that operates with battery. I will have to install the small battery into the cap of the mascara and whenever I open it, the brush will vibrate automatically and I can really feel it on my lashes! Cute cosmetic toy isn't it?
Simply love it :)
But now I got to know that Lancome is also coming out with the similar mascara.

The new ESTĒE LAUDER Turbo Lash mascara. To use it, you will have to open the cap and install the battery first. The small silver coin-like thingy is the battery. Fun right?

And, when Chinese New Year was around the corner last month, I decided to buy myself a new blusher because my previous one from Ettusais was "crashed." Erm.. to be frank, I dropped the blusher on the floor and it became "pieces of blusher"...hahaha... I know I am clumpsy. I used to be a big fan of Ettusais but... hmmm... I am more to ESTĒE LAUDER now, maybe the sales personnel is much better, offering perfect service. And I love laura Mercier too, but too bad, I don't like the way the sales personnel treated me everytime I visit their counter. So I can't force myself to buy their product when they don't seem to care about the customers.

So, after some recommendations and trial session, I decided to splurge on the Silky Powder Blush in Peach Nuance. The colour - in a mixture of light pink and yellow is sooooooooo beautiful. And I think I made the right choice when I first used it at home as the texture is so smooth :) I like the blusher from Guerlain too, but it is way tooooooo expensive.. (ok, I have to assure myself that ESTĒE LAUDER is good enough for me!!)

The ESTĒE LAUDER Silky Powder Blusher in Peach Nuance. Beautiful tone in a classy casing...

And, as I said, the ESTĒE LAUDER sales personnel knows how to capture the heart of consumers. I bought a blusher, and I get an eyeshadow for FREE!! Not those trial pack but a real mono-colour eyeshadow :) How lucky am I and of course, how good are them in treating their customers... BIG ThankS!!

The eyeshadow in Vintage Purple that I got for FREE... haha ...

A for Alcohol.V for Vodka

Kinda fall in love with alcohol...well, i think three years ago when I first tried Gin Tonic and realised how good the alcohol plays in "connecting people" (Of course, Nokia is always the pioneer in connecting people :P)

Frankly, I think some people will still have some stereotypical and prejudicial view towards girls who drink. At least the first one I met is my auntie. Whenever she sees me drink, she will day "good girls don't drink" and yeah..you got it, I don't give a damn.

I like all kinda alcohol and don't mind trying them out to experience how they could play with my palate. Haha... but I kinda have "resistance" towards beers. The only beer I can accept is only Heineken. I don't know why but my Dutch friend, Sjakie told me that Heineken is the worst beer in Netherlands. Really? Haha... i don't quite like beers mainly because I don't like the feeling of "bursting tummy" after a few bottle.

I like white wine, I like Gin Tonic and I like Vodka (especially vodka kurant, because a purple maniac like me would like anything in purple, haha, and I wish to collect all the different flavours and version from Swedish Absolut Vodka, they are gorgeous). I remember I was drunk, well, half-drunken (but vomitted) in the beautiful beach of Langkawi after a bottle of Chardonnay followed by a bottle of Merlot (if not mistaken, but I can be 100% sure that it was a bottle of red wine). That was freaking awkward. I can't accept throwing up after drinking. Though my situation was not those crazy-drunken-girl-yelling-while-vomiting, I was just sitting alone, vomiting silently, (haha..) but I was really embarassed the next day :(

One of my favourite drink - bombay Sapphire Gin. Chase it with Tonic, Ice and a slice of lemon. Hmmm... Wonderful!

The Absolut Vodka in Blackcurrant flavour. Very nice. Can drink it with some berries-flavoured sparkling mineral water and of course, don't miss out a slice of lemom, which will make it tastes much better.

The Absolut Vodka family ... aren't they look magnificent in a big family? I wish I can have all these as soon as possible!!

Chinese New Year is about to end and I have finished a bottle of Vodka Kurrant with my parents. Had some red wine as well and I tried Chivas Whisky with my dad (I can only say I am not at the age of appreciating Whisky :P). Which was fun. When alcohol is around, people are at their best ease and talk more than usual.

Don't worry, I am not an alcoholic, I know my limit and i strongly against alcoholism. But nest time, when you have a small argument with your loved one, why not puring each other some wine (or beers or whatever cocktails you want) and talk to sort the problem out. But don't be too drunk, it is always a dangerous matter to be too drunk in front of people, cos' you might not know what will you say...

Christmas Celebration @ T.G.I Friday

Had a small break for Christmas where I have no class for almost a week. In the midst of strugglin' with my final thesis draft which made me felt like living in hell, I decided to give myself a small indulgence by going to Bandar Utama to look at the beautiful Christmas decoration before it's too late. I like Christmas, one of the reasons is it infuses sense of romanticness, warmth and love in the air, with colourful, huge and creatively decorated Christmas trees! Christmas trees are soooooooooo beautiful!!

(How I wish I can have a chance to celebrate Christmas with real snowman...that would be freakin' great and cool!)

Ok, my plan was to go to Bandar Utama on the 26th, sad huh, post Christmas celebration, haha... whatever... I have "Thesis-mas" (cited in JuliaBao, 2008 :P) but I ended up spending my day at The Curve because 1U was toooooo ( x 1, 000, 000) crowded where all the parking lots were full!

I was like a child, almost like a child from rural area who had never stepped out from the jungle when I reached the Curve. I think I have been locking up myself for quite some time. Haha...
The initial plan was to have some spicy Thai food but he suggested to go for T. G. I Friday, not because of that day itself was a Friday, but I have been naggin' him for ages in order to get to try the food there.

So, upon settling down by a cute Caucasian waiter who speaks English in a speedy Australian (maybe) slang, we took nearly 15 minutes to order the food.

The outdoor dining area at T. G. I Friday, The Curve. Simply love the restaurant's theme in red :) Red is a passionate colour ain't so??

"Come for the Food, Stay for the Fun"... cool tagline! But I don't like the cutlery provided. Looks just .... cheap! The knives look like a butter knife instead (Sorry for being harsh ... I can be very picky even in this kinda thing, beautiful cutlery makes the food taste much better!)

Here comes our drinks ... (left) orange lime slush (which doesn't taste / look orangy) and the blue rasberry slush. Not bad, quite refreshing and thirst quenching but I wonder why can't they use a nicer glass instead of this cheap-looking plastic cup?? (Maybe glass is sorta expensive or the associates are too reckless =.=)

Starter ... Fried calamari ring that comes with the 3-course meal. So-so, not really fantastic and surprising.

Ok, here comes the main course - Dragonfire Chicken with Savoury Rice. Erm, sorry for being harsh again, this main course is a disaster. The rice was terrible and the food presentation sucks! Doesn't this look like nasi kandar from mamak stall? Maybe we made a huge mistake for ordering "rice" in a western food restaurant like this...

Another main course - Sizzling Chicken with cheese. Erm, not bad, because I love cheese and capsicum. But the mashed potato... bleeekkkk!! I hardly ate half of it. Terrible, with no taste all all and why would they sprinkle shallot (green spring onion) on top of the mashed potato? My, I hate shallot!!

Well, personally I had a not-so-pleasant experience in T.G.I Friday and don't quite like it but I know many people who do go crazy about the food there. Well, food, just like love, is always personalized! Maybe I will pay a second visit, provided some one really convinces me that there are really good food to "stay" at! If not, bye... auf wiedersehen... ciao!!!

Waitin' for another food expedition :)
